About the artist
Hi I’m Kate Soutar
A little bit about me….I am a mother of 5 beautiful children. I am 45. I have developed many skills and talents and continue to push myself to learn more. I am a professional photographer I love capturing landscapes and the beauty of Mother Nature.
I enjoy renovation projects and have worked on a lot different properties. This has helped me develop skills such as, tiling, demolition, painting & decorating, laying flooring, hanging curtains, building and I’ll turn my hand to anything and give it a go.
I am a bit of a cowgirl. I absolutely love horses and riding is my favourite thing to do and there is so much enjoyment in bonding with my horse and riding with my husband or my kids. I love country music, Chris Stapleton and Luke Combes are my favourite artists.
I live on the Westcoast in New Zealand and I think it is the most beautiful place in the world. As a photographer I love to capture the breathtaking scenery this raw untamed place has to offer and creating landscape art to share with the world.
As a mandala artist, I'm passionate about creating unique, nature-inspired designs resonate peace and calm. My artistic process is a reflection of my love for nature.
I work in multiple mediums, blending traditional painting and digital techniques to bring my mandalas to life. From digital artworks printed on canvas to meticulously painted originals on MDF, each piece is a labor of love.
As I continue to grow as an artist, I'm excited to expand my creative offerings. I've recently begun my tattooing journey, with the goal of bringing my mandala designs to life on skin. This new chapter allows me to connect with clients on a deeper level, fostering meaningful relationships and creating personalised, lasting art.
At the heart of my creativity is a desire to connect with others, particularly women seeking healing, connection, and community. I believe that art has the power to heal, to transcend boundaries and foster empathy. Through my work, I aim to provide a sense of comfort, inspiration, and healing.
